CEWTNK Scavenger Hunt....

It's the dog days of summer and the mercury is rising. One of the things I am passionate about in my writing is creating scenes that are hot. I think we, as women, fantasize about reading about handsome men who know how to satisfy a woman, both physically and mentally. So much of sex for a woman is between her ears, not her legs. My goal in writing sex scenes is tapping into that part of sex where lust, physical desire, and emotional satisfaction merge. For me, sex is unselfish and involves two people focused on the pleasure of one another. Orgasm is only a small part of the equation. Below is a sexy scene from Blood Promise, which is the third in my Progeny Series. The fourth book, Blood Reborn, and a spin off novella are both set to release this fall. I hope you enjoy the excerpt and that it helps get you through the long, hot days of summer.

Blood Promise (The Progeny Series #3)
“Their love is fated by an ancient prophecy. Now the promise is fulfilled.”

Ascher Rousseau is a half-human, half vampire whose life has been a series of prophecies and predictions. After finding incredible love and passion with Shauna—a Wiccan with powers beyond anything he’s ever known—he seals to her and hopes for happiness. But his enemies seek to destroy all that he loves, and he finds that happiness never lasts for long.

Darkness is descending and a vampiric revolution is nearing. A new brood of hatchlings is born to join their darkling brothers, in preparation for war. A preordained chain of events is set into motion that could lead to the rise of the demonic “cloaked one” and his half-human fallen children, while ending humanity—as we know it.

Can a supernatural love and the loyal bond of a family save the Rousseaus and the world from certain extinction?

A Steamy Excerpt from Blood Promise

Ascher smoothed his fingers over her perky globes, teasing the nipples until they pebbled against his touch. The muscles of her firm abdomen rippled beneath his hand, as it journeyed downward. He rolled his eyes with the overwhelming sensations and slid his fingers over her hot little button. “Part your thighs for me, baby.”

Shauna's back arched, her hips shifting to give his fingers better access to her clit.

“Do you like that?” His thrusts deepened, as she slipped along his length, his fingers massaging her folds. “You’re getting so wet. You love that, don’t you?”

Her nails dug into the flesh of his thighs as she took him straight to the root. “It feels so good.” Her fingers moved to her slit, her thumb rousing the swollen button of flesh.

The shuddering of her body signaled her building orgasm.

With his lips resting at the base of her neck, he steadied her against him.

She was wet and hot, her silky softness soaked with arousal. Her insides pulsed and blazed, causing the head of his dick to thud as it was sheathed by her innermost folds.

Their sweat-slicked bodies clung together as they fucked themselves closer to climax.

“Baby, you’re going to make me come again,” he whispered against the smooth skin of her neck. The crimson saturated his eyesight as his head fell back. He was deep, too deep, and so damned deep that he could barely hear past the blood pounding in his ears. It was sweet heaven imbued with a torturous hell. It felt fucking fantastic. “Shauna.”

Panting wildly, she seemed too overwhelmed to speak.

He grasped her hips, guiding her thrusts until they developed a relentless, pounding rhythm that coursed the beginning of a climax along his nerves. He stilled deep inside her, growling as the ecstasy fired a heated flush across his skin.

She continued masturbating herself, her moans becoming decadent sighs of submission.

He stopped to get control of himself, but it did no good. The blood still rushed in his head, waking the red-eyed fiend inside. She’s touching herself. The thought of that mingled with the feel of her pussy rippling around him. It was too damned much. After all attempts at calming down failed, he did the one thing he knew he shouldn’t do but couldn’t help himself. Anchoring her hips to increase the friction between their bodies, he gave her a hard thrust.

“Oh—Ascher,” she moaned, her voice straining from the rapturous screams of pleasure.

He froze, afraid that he’d hurt her. “Yes, love? Are you okay? Did I hurt you?”

“Harder!” she demanded, dropping her ass down on him. “Fuck me harder, Ash.”

His restraint frayed and his mind snapped. He was clearly out of control now. Leaning down and tracing the outline of her ear with the tip of his tongue, Ascher gave it a gentle tug. “Oh, I’ll give it to you harder. I’ll fuck you any way you want.” Covering her neck with gentle nips from his teeth, he gave her another swift stroke. “As long as you promise to come for me.”

“I’m close now.”

“Ride me, baby. Come on, Shauna. Move that sexy little ass.” His movements quickened, the strokes causing her to bounce against his thighs.

Shauna gritted her teeth and grunted as she absorbed the blows of her ass contacting his body, smacking against him with brute force. “Ah,” she groaned, while making a tight circuit of her hips on him. She turned her face to the side, giving him a lustful kiss. Their tongues twirled, sending more vibrations through his mouth and down to his shaft. “More. Give me more, Ash.”

Ascher’s tongue delved deeper into her mouth and he shoved her down on him again. Up and down, round and round, bringing his climax to the bitter brink. “You want more?” A wave of fire shot through his veins. “Oh shit, Shauna.”

He was acutely aware of how she felt around him, on top of him, and how it felt to be inside her. Their sensual movements and bodies synchronized, falling into a pleasurable pace that existed exclusively for the two of them. He skimmed her skin with his fingertips feeling the smoothness of it, pressing his nose into her slightly damp hair while the scent of berries and roses overtook him.

She rocked her hips against him, her pussy shuttering, massaging and tightening around him until his body ached with the anticipation of a climax. Her clenching walls churned, dipped, and encapsulated his shaft, bringing him closer to the edge.

About Ashlynne Laynne
Ashlynne Laynne is a songwriter, poet and author of erotic paranormal and contemporary romance, who has always had a soft spot in her heart for vampires but grew tired of the garlic fearing, sun-loathing creatures of old. An avid horror movie fan, she tends to enjoy media and music that is of a younger, more eclectic nature. This was the catalyst for her writing The Progeny. The vampire/witch pairing is unique and different when most books pair vampires with werewolves.

Ashlynne loves writing on the edge—combining the erotica and romance genres—and thinks of Ascher and Shauna as the wicked, damned version of Romeo and Juliet. She is currently working on book four of her Progeny Series, book one of her upcoming Rocker Series, and several novella spin offs. In her spare time, she enjoys cooking, reading and spending time with her family. She juggles the hats of wife, mother, full time employee and part-time writer, hoping to write exclusively one day soon. Find and follow her online on Twitter. Check out her Manic Readers page, Blog and Website, or leave her a note in her Reader Email.

Ashlynne lives in North Carolina with her husband and teenage son.

About The Progeny Series
At its core, The Progeny Series is simply about a man and woman who fall in love. The fact that he’s a half-blood (half-human, half vampire) and she’s a Wiccan human are secondary factors. When we meet Ascher, he’s grumpy. Frankly, who could blame him? He’s engaged to seal to Ursula—a cold and careless vampire who wants nothing more than to get her hands on a bloodstone— and he feels conflicted about his existence.

All of that changes when he meets Shawnette McCutchin. She’s beautiful, intriguing and possesses some of the most potent blood that he’s ever smelled. A war immediately begins inside Ascher. He craves Shauna’s blood just as much as he craves her body and the closer they get, the harder it is for him to control his urges. After Ascher calls off the sealing to Ursula, the trouble begins. His family’s peaceful period ends when Ursula’s army attacks the Rousseaus.

This series encompasses a family dynamic of which we’ve never seen. The Rousseaus share a common mortal and immortal bloodline, but loyalty is the thread binding this clan. Shauna and Ascher’s dissuaded love only strengthens the family bonds. Their unique union transcends bloodlines and completes the prophecy, defying the beliefs of centuries old covenants while shattering the wall between the Wiccan and vampire worlds that has existed for ages. This series is erotic paranormal romance intended for adults, as it contains adult sensuality, language and themes.

Yearning is coming...

I'm feverishly writing book four and a novella in my Progeny series. Today, I'm revealing the cover, blurb, and a small excerpt from the upcoming Yearning. Both books are set to release this fall.

Yearning: A Blood Reborn Novella
“Destiny will not be denied.”

Like their siblings, Katy McCutchin and Gabe Rousseau are destined. A powerful double Wiccan and vampire, they’ve conquered many obstacles to be together. With their relationship at a crossroads, it’s time to take the steps that will finally link them for eternity.

Excerpt from the upcoming Yearning

“Kitty.” Lee paused. “Katy,” he corrected, “I know we got off on the wrong foot, but you’re my sister and I’d really like to know you. I’m not asking you to forgive me overnight, but I hope, in time, that you’ll allow me to be a part of your life.”
Katy’s fists clenched with tension. “We’ll see what happens.” She checked her buzzing phone and found a text from Gabe. He was on his way up to get her. His curious text could only mean one thing, he’d run into Lucy and she’d told him that she was with Lee. “Gabriel’s on his way up to get me.”
An uncomfortable silence blanketed the room as the siblings traded stares. Lee stood, his body seeming reluctant to leave. When he got to the door, he turned, a wide grin on his face.
“See you later, Kitty Kat.”
A pain seized Katy’s chest as she registered the nostalgia in his voice as he called her the nickname that only someone from her childhood would know. The sound of him calling her that had boiled her blood, but only because she thought of the sentiment as something private that she shared with Shauna. Lee was her brother and a part of her past. He could fill in the spots that she couldn’t remember, or had trained her mind to forget.
A tear rolled from her eyes as his words flowed over her. Raised Catholic, she knew the power of absolution and forgiving those who had wronged you. Didn’t Lee deserve the chance to redeem himself? Didn’t we all? He knew her, despite the years they’d spent apart. What was wrong with her? He was her blood and a tangible link to her past.
Placing her hands on her hips, Katy faux muttered, “Nobody ever calls me that silly name anymore. I can’t believe you even remember it.”
“Hard to forget a toddler running through the house clutching a mangled up Hello Kitty doll in pink footie pajamas with purple flowers.”
More tears streamed down her face as the truth of his love for her morphed into a solid reality. Love for his difficult little sister poured from Lee’s hazel-heavy stare, his arms restraining him against the wall.
“You’d better get going,” he warned, giving her a crooked smirk she was sure women found adorable. “I’ve already escaped the wrath of one Rousseau brother today. I’d better not press my luck.”
Katy walked toward the door, passing Lee closely enough that their arms somehow touched. That zinging was there, their sibling bond evident in the sizzling of their nerves.
Lee’s eyes widened with surprise—he was just as shocked as she was.
Pausing, Katy clutched her chest and leaned against the wall to steady herself, her heart hammering against her ribs. There was nothing she could do, she’d only experienced this with Shauna and had thought that the events at the charity function were only a fluke.
For better or worse, Shawn-Lee Williams was as much her blood as her sister.
Lee swallowed her up in his arms, hugging her so tight that Katy was sure that she’d suffocate in his embrace. “No matter what happens, you’ll always be my sister and I’ll protect you with my life. St. Pierre witches always take care of their own. When you’re ready, we’ll go to Louisiana so that you can learn about our heritage.”
In that moment, even with the turmoil surrounding her and the uncertainty plaguing her bond with Shauna, Katy felt comforted by Lee’s arms around her. She was one step closer to making good on her promise to right the wrongs in her life. If a reconciliation was possible with Lee, making up with Shauna should be a piece of cake.

Bewitching Book Tours ~ Spotlight on The Chronicles of Darkness by Matthew Head

The Chronicles of Darkness: The Box of Infernos
The Chronicles of Darkness Book One
Matthew Head

Genre:  Supernatural Mystery

ISBN:  978-1-78299-263-9

Number of pages:  204
Word Count:  85,000

Cover Artist: Matthew Head

Book Description:

In the south of England, in the city of Monks-Lantern, events are starting to unfold which have the potential to threaten all of creation. Isaac Jacobs is a young university student with a haunted past who has long been fighting the supernatural monsters of this world and now he fights them alongside his four friends; Gabbi Gurtpasha, Billie Stamford, Laura Henley and Ben Pokeley.

What starts off as a disturbing but relatively low key investigation soon explodes into something much larger, darker and more fearsome than any of them could have imagined. Just what is behind the slow but steady disappearance of people from the city? Who is the much feared Imperator? What is the worst thing you can hope to see beneath a door in an empty building? How do you define a good man from a bad one? And what terror lies within the Box of Infernos?

A plan which has been in motion for millenia is now coming to fruition and Isaac had better be ready as his life will never be the same again from now on.

Something is coming.

Isaac found himself stepping forwards, towards the door. “We need to know for sure.” He edged closer and closer, hearing his heart beating loudly in his chest and hearing too the audible nervous breathing of his friends behind him. He kept on inching forwards, not taking his eyes off of the shoe shapes in the gap underneath. They stayed unmoving. Within moments he was right up against the door so that it almost touched his nose. Nobody spoke, nobody seemed to even dare breathe now. All was silent. Slowly, as though any sudden movement might trigger some kind of alarm, he turned his head to one side and gingerly leant forwards and placed an ear against the cool white surface of the door.
Then he listened. He focused every bit of mental energy had into listening, straining to hear anything from the figure standing just a couple of inches away behind the door. He shut his eyes, blocking out sight in case it interfered with hearing. He listened, listened, listened, staying quiet for what seemed like ages but was probably only a few seconds. Then he heard it. He jumped inside, but he didn’t make any movement physically. He felt his blood chill and goose pimples pop up all over his arms and legs. Three words being whispered so softly and quietly it was impossible to tell who was saying them, but also so intently and purposefully that Isaac knew that whoever they were they meant every syllable.
“Let me in.”

Meet Matthew Head:
My name is Matthew Head and I'm a writer from Surrey. Well, I say from Surrey - I was born in Kent, moved to London for a bit and then moved out to Surrey to live with my partner Andrew. I was born in the eighties, raised in the nineties and then I was inspired in the noughties during my time at university where I studied Theology.

Theology is quite possibly the most fascinating subject in the world. Sounds boring I know, sounds like church and everyone knows that church is boring. But it's not like that at all. It's packed full of myths and monsters, gods and goddesses - mad, bad, sad ones alive in stories which rival many blockbuster movies in terms of how epic they are. It doesn't matter whether it's all real or not - it's the story that counts. Stories are beautiful because absolutely anything is possible within them. That's why I love writing because I love the idea of contributing to that and creating stories. Stories that will make you cry, make you laugh, make you scared. Because I think there is some magic in writing - that simple words have the power to make us feel and react so strongly to them.

When I'm not writing or doing my day job then I really enjoy going out and exploring new places. I love going somewhere I've never been before, especially if there's some history linked to the place. Old places are the best - the older the better. You just get this sense that so much has happened there, so many different people have come and gone and yet the place remains.

A few more random facts about me - my favourite pet is the humble goldfish, my favourite dinner is macaroni cheese, I love banana flavoured things but I strongly dislike bananas and the only real phobia I have is a phobia of frogs. Yeuch.

As the auctioneer spoke, two Sekhmi in eveningwear—a male carrying an elegant dagger and a female a silver tray covered with glass vials—approached the Amiti girl.
“She’s barely eighteen, ladies and gentlemen. That’s a good three years younger than the youngest bloodstock you’ll usually come across. Look at her; she’s stunning, simply stunning, and as you can see, we’ve kept her well conditioned, in excellent health.”
The auctioneer paused as the male Hunter grasped the Amiti’s hand and held it above the tray. The girl showed no resistance, her only display of anxiety the butterfly fluttering of her thick eyelashes. He raised his other hand, and the dagger flashed in the light as with a swift motion he slit the Amiti’s palm. The dark, intoxicating scent of fresh blood filled the room as it poured into the vials.
Simone’s gums began to itch and burn, and she covered her mouth with her hand so no one would see her fangs punching down. It was considered terribly rude to expose one’s fangs in public, even among other vampires. But she needn’t have worried; everyone’s attention was riveted to the stage and the blood flowing from the girl’s wound. The room vibrated with bloodlust and sexual arousal.
The female Sekhmi approached Simone’s table, offering the Royal Pride the first of the blood samples. Knowing that all eyes were on her, Simone forced herself not to hesitate and took a small sip—and was immediately flooded with euphoria.
“For this magnificent specimen, we open the bidding at ten million U.S. dollars,” announced the auctioneer.
