When a woman is the magnet for the wrong man, it takes a bad boy to break old habits.
Carolina Rodriguez is a large animal veterinarian on a mission to escape South Florida and her overprotective family. Willing to do just about anything, she accepts a job in Annona, Texas over the Internet from a family connection.
At her cousin’s wedding, she runs into Matt, a handsome Texan in the church parking lot. Matthew McLemore is more than gorgeous, he’s Carolina’s new boss, and needs her help to determine why his cattle keep dying. Matt’s instantaneous attraction to Carolina sorely tempts him to push the boundaries of their work contract, but a roll in the hay may prove too volatile to handle. Until she arrives on his ranch and is too hot to resist.
Carolina refuses to admit Matt’s raw sexuality is more than overpowering or that she's the least bit tempted by this smooth-talking bad boy. But by the time the pathology lab reports comes back, they’ve explored every inch of each other. All of a sudden, this fiery affair is more than just a fling. And when a past flame threatens to overwhelm their new found romance, Matt must find a way to stake his claim to Carolina's heart before it's too late.
Warning: Contains a smoking mess of scorching love scenes.
Ice may be needed for blazing imaginations.

Meet Susan Arden

Susan grew up in Miami, Florida and spent summers with her father, a college philosophy professor. Surrounded by stacks of books, she voraciously read throughout her childhood. Her father gave her the Little Prince not once, but several times over the years and the ideas of heartfelt vision stuck. "What matters is beyond the tangible. I love the concept of falling in love. The type of romantic journey that is so intense, it borders on insanity."--Susan D. Taylor
Susan moved to Nashville where she taught biology and special education as well as coached girls' soccer. No longer a public school teacher, Susan now writes about consuming passion, how attraction plays out, and characters that are either going to incinerate or meld like ribbons of warm caramel. She lives in TN with her husband, two blue heelers, two cats, a gecko and a snake. An RYT 200 (Yoga Alliance) specializing in vinyasa flow when she's not writing her next hot romance.

Guest Author Series ~ Janiera Eldridge

Today, I am pleased to have Janiera Eldridge on PRaB. I'm excited to learn more about her latest release, Good Ghost Gone Bad!

The Interview:

Where are you from? Tell us a little about yourself.

I’m the bright and sunny south. Although Jacksonville can be very small town at times  but it really is a beautiful place. I’m a really simple girl writing, reading and good comfort food is enough to keep this girl happy! I have a morbid sense of humor and love when I find someone  who can understand my humor!

What made you want to be an author?

When I fell ill with mononucleosis and then developed Fibromyalgia, telling stories was so therapeutic for me. I knew from that point on that telling stories was in my blood and I had to make a career out of it! I’ve never done anything else that could make me happier.

What do you like best about being a writer? What do you like the least?

I love telling stories and chatting with fans about the characters and events in my book! However, I really don’t appreciate the exclusivity  and importance that the publishing industry put on money over quality books.

Are you a plotter or a pantser, i.e., do you outline your books ahead of time or are you an “organic” writer?

I’m A Panster 100% My work gets so boring when I outline. All the juicy stuff happens when I just go with the flow of the story and let the characters talk for themselves.

What influences your writing? And why?

Books, books and more books! I’m a dedicated reader AND writer so reading other talented author’s work enables me to keep coming up with my own outrageous ideas.

Name one thing readers don’t know about you.

Adam’s Family is my favorite comedy of all time and I’d love to meet a man like Gomez Addams!

Are love scenes easy/difficult for you to write?

I don’t write many love scenes but I can say that when I do I must be totally alone because an incredibly goofy smile will cross my face. The hardest part is getting over my own personal embarrassment of writing naughty things; I’m actually very good at writing them.

Do you have another career besides writing? What is it?

I’m a copy writer, entertainment, beauty and book blogger. Overall, I’m a freelance writer when I’m not being novelist (which I love the most!)

What hobbies do you enjoy when not writing?

I love a good book and a good movie. My fibromyalgia often leads me tired and in pain at the end of the day so resting outside of work, had become a hobby!

If you could be any supernatural creature, what would it be and why?

A vampire. If  I could be beautiful, young and rich forever I’d totally rock that. There’s be no moody vampire here!

If you had one take away piece of advice for authors, what would it be?

Write what you want to write, how you want to write it and don’t let reviews or anything change your style.

Do you have any future projects that we can look for?

I’m currently working on the third book in my popular Soul Sisters series (yes, it’s a vampire series but one different from anything you’ve read!). It’s a doozy and I can’t wait for people to see it.

Tell us more about Good Ghost Gone Bad.

Brianna Moreno was an average 22-year-old women who loved shopping, hanging out with her friends and making more career plans....until the night she was brutally and unexpectedly murdered.

Now she finds herself trapped in the ghost world while residing on earth. The problem is, her killer can see all of his ghostly victims and enjoys taunting them as much as he does killing them.Brianna soon finds out that her killer has horrible new plans concerning her family.

Brianna meets up with a few of her killer's past victims to hatch a plan so terrifying, the entire town will never be the same again.

Brianna is a good ghost gone bad; the good girl side is gone forever!

*This book is not a YA read. It's an 18+ only novella that features sex, strong language and strong violence.

Where can readers find more about your stories, books and you on the Internet?

My blog is where you can read all about me, my books and other indie authors I love supporting.

If you’d like to connect with me and chat about my books then I’m always available at my FB page and love talkin’ to ya!

Now for my fast five:

Angels or Demons?
Angels, I may have a wicked sense of humor but I hate dealing with evil people!

Vampires or werewolves?
Vampires are sleek and sexy. Werewolves remind me way to much of Dogs.

Coffee or Chocolate?
OMG such a hard choice but chocolate is great for any occasion.

Early Morning or Late Night?
Late night, early morning is just… blah.

E-book or Paperback?
Ebooks, so much easier to travel with and snuggle up with in bed.

Excerpt:

That’s when I saw my face on the TV. It was my high school picture from four years ago. My face was fuller since I had lost 25 pounds this year from spending some of my spare time on a recreational soccer team but overall, I looked the same. There was no way I could fool myself into thinking it wasn’t me on the television screen. Next to the picture were the stats that once belonged to my physical self. The conservative looking reporter with his perfectly brushed come-over and bright blue eyes said I was 5’9, 145 pounds, black curly hair, dark skin, hazel eyes. My body shuttered from crying with no tears. It was a pathetic scene (which I was glad no one could see) but I cried harder knowing there was really no relief from this terrible pain. In life, tears were a way of watching emotional pain flee from the body, but now they were stuffed deep down inside of me somewhere and bottled up with a cork. I couldn’t hear what was being said on the TV and really didn’t want to. My parents must have gone to the police and said I was missing. I disappeared just in time to make the 11 O’clock news; I’m sure my killer was at home enjoying this. Exploding in anger, I punched the outside wall that faced the street. The couple sitting side by side on the couch shivered and moved apart. They felt me! “Hello!” I screamed at the top of my lungs. They didn’t budge anymore, but for a moment they did feel me. There was no hole in the wall, but they must have heard when the punch landed. For a short time, I was a part of the normal world again.

FMB Author Promotions ~ The Princess and the Prepper by Barbara Elsborg

Title: The Princess and the Prepper
Series: Prepper series
Author: Barbara Elsborg
Genre: Contemporary Erotic Romance
Publisher: Decadent
Format: Ebook
Length: 106 pages

Purchase: Decadent Publishing | Amazon

Lili knows she shouldn’t accept a lift from a stranger, but as usual, she leaps from one disaster to another. The consequence is being stuck in the middle of a snowy nowhere wearing next to nothing, and this time, being unprepared looks likely to kill her.

Grant lives in an isolated cabin for a reason. He’s prepared for almost every eventuality. The last thing he wants is some needy person interfering with his ordered life. When he gets into bed with a woman he rescued from certain death—just to warm her up, of course—Grant discovers something else he’s not prepared for. His heart opening.

A match made in heaven, until secrets come knocking. Lili is not just a simple woman in need of shelter, and unless she can survive dealing with her background, it doesn’t seem possible the happiness that’s fallen out of a blizzard can heal Grant’s own past.

Excerpt:

I’m going to die. It was a surprise to find herself so calm. But it was the truth. She was going to die. No way would she last more than a few minutes in these temperatures. Her body was already chilling, her teeth chattering, the cold seeping into her designer boots. Blinking snow from her lashes, she hugged herself, tucking her fingers under her arms, the wind biting into her with sharp teeth. The road showed no tracks from a vehicle, other than the one she’d fallen from. She swiveled in a circle, checking for any signs of life. All she saw was a long, empty road lined with pine trees.
Lili gritted her teeth and set off after the truck. Maybe it had stopped around the corner and he was teaching her a lesson. Dieter was always teaching her lessons. Every breath she took was like inhaling shards of ice. At least her feet were dry but that wouldn’t last. These boots weren’t made for walking. Wasn’t that a song? Weren’t made or were made? Hardly before she’d completed the thought, a heel snapped. She stumbled and then limped on. Warm, fur-lined boots lay in her suitcase. She’d stuffed her gloves in her coat pocket. Why hadn’t she thought to grab her bag from the car before she begged a lift?
She knew why. She’d have been forced to wait until Dieter unlocked it, and then he’d have stopped her with words or actions. Leaving everything had been the only way she could escape.
What had he thought when she’d not come out of the restaurant bathroom? How long had he waited before he’d gone looking for her? Which way had he driven? Might he pull up behind her? What should she do if he did?
I’d get in his car. What choice do I have?
Her shaking grew more violent, her body smothered in goose bumps, even, she suspected, her eyes. She’d finally done it, run away, and she’d rather die than go back. Except now that dying was more than a possibility, the word mistake echoed ever more loudly in her head.
As she grew colder and her steps slowed, her mind wandered to what she wished her life had been. Lili wanted to fill her head with happiness because then dying might not be so hard, but there were so few truly happy memories that depression settled more heavily on her shoulders. She wasn’t a naturally unhappy person. She’d learned early on in life to make the best of any situation, but there was no upside to being half-naked in a snowstorm. Her teeth chattered uncontrollably. Cold and sadness seeped through her skin and trickled along her veins.
Somehow she kept moving, hobbling down the road. The longer she could keep going, the more chance she had of surviving. For all she knew there was a house around the next bend. If not that bend, then the next. She wasn’t going to give in until…a wolf stood a few yards in front of her.
Lili stumbled to a halt. Oh damn. Falling asleep in a snowdrift didn’t sound so bad but being eaten by a wolf? She didn’t fancy that at all. The wolf made a sort of bark-howl and bounded toward her. She tried to form the words, “Nice doggy” but her lips were frozen. She stayed right where she was, closed her eyes, and braced for an attack. When it didn’t happen, she opened her eyes to see the wolf had stopped a couple of feet away. It made the weird noise again. Probably calling for reinforcements. Don’t bother. I’m not much of a meal. She moved around it and carried on down the road. A few steps later she’d convinced herself it hadn’t been there.

About the Author:

Barbara Elsborg lives in West Yorkshire in the north of England. She always wanted to be a spy, but having confessed to everyone without them even resorting to torture, she decided it was not for her. Vulcanology scorched her feet. A morbid fear of sharks put paid to marine biology. So instead, she spent several years successfully selling cyanide.

After dragging up two rotten, ungrateful children and frustrating her sexy, devoted, wonderful husband (who can now stop twisting her arm) she finally has time to conduct an affair with an electrifying plugged-in male, her laptop.
Her books feature quirky heroines and bad boys, and she hopes they are as much fun to read as they are to write.

Excerpt

 The Bargain – Her Part
"So we're just going to get naked and fuck." She reached for his hard wood.
He shut her up with a kiss, dragging his hot body along her bare skin while she fondled him.
She wrapped her legs around his hips, and tried to pull him in while he slid down, kissing her neck, her nipples, her abs. She giggled as he kneeled between her thighs. "Make sure the audience can see."
He kicked the office chair out of his way. It rolled to a stop beside the couch, lined up as if imaginary spectators waited to see their erotic show. "They expect an Oscar-winning performance."
"Do porn stars get awards?" Her fingers tangled in his hair as he bent down. "Ohh... never mind."
Charlie licked and sucked, indulging her directions and ad-libbing a few acts. Tongues of flame danced along her aching slit, fanning the embers left by her first orgasm. A slow, glowing warmth radiated through her limbs, but then one rogue spark ignited her.
"Oh! Yes. Yes!" Andrea lay quivering on the rug while her husband caressed her damp skin.
"Nice job." He winked. "But I want to see the rest of your talents."
"I'll need a good co-star." She sat up and pushed him to the floor.
He stretched out beneath her, his cock straining for her touch.
"This looks like something I can work with." Her fingers curled around his stiff member, and he groaned as she sucked it into her mouth.
She tried to take it as deep as the cowgirl had, but she had to pull back when her gag reflex kicked in. "I need more practice."
"I'm available anytime."
She circled the head with her tongue, smiling when his eyes rolled back.
He arched off the floor, and she slowly took him in, pausing to adjust before going deeper. "Holy shit, babe." His hand fisted in her hair, and his balls tightened in her palm. "I'm gonna come."
"Not before I fuck you."
His groan sounded both disappointed and excited, but he didn't protest when she crawled over him and trapped his trembling cock between her thighs. Her gaze met his and he grabbed her hips and guided her down onto his shaft. "Ride me, woman."
She sat up and flipped her hair over her shoulders, arching her back so he could get a good look at her naked body. Her nipples tingled as she glanced toward the couch and imagined an audience—both men and women—watching them fuck on the hardwood floor. What would her fans want to see? One hand drifted across her breasts, stopping to pinch a nipple while the other wandered down her stomach, seeking....

About the Author:
Amelia James started reading steamy romance novels in junior high, but her mom took them away from her, so she started daydreaming instead. After she got married, she wrote some of her naughtier daydreams down and sent them to Playgirl magazine. Two of them got published.  She kept daydreaming and writing stories until her dirty stories turned into trashy books.
She lives in Colorado, but she'll always be a loyal Wisconsin Cheesehead. When she's not lusting after her next bad boy hero, she looks for inspiration in sci-fi and action movies, football players, bloodsucking lawyers, muscle cars, and kick-butt chicks.

Team Progeny Spotlight: Faleasha Myers

I, affectionately, call the talent surrounding me Team Progeny. This small group of individuals are just as responsible for the success of my series as the words that I write. As with children, my philosophy is "It takes a village." Today, I am spotlighting Faleasha Myers. Her artwork, until very recently, graced the covers of books one through three of the Progeny series. The thing I love about her work is that she literally takes my words and brings them to life. Her depictions of Ascher and Shauna scream emotions to everyone that views them. She loves my characters and that love shows up in each piece of art she creates. Faleasha is hard at work on fan art for Blood Fury, and I can't wait to see what she comes up with!

From The Progeny
This is the picture that started it all. Faleasha drew this picture with little more than a few excerpts of description from a half-written The Progeny. With those few paragraphs, she created what would be the world's first glimpse at Ascher Rousseau and Shawnette McCutchin. At the time, I didn't know if I'd even finish the manuscript, or if this story would see the light of day. In a lot of ways, this picture inspired me to keep writing. The thing that strikes me most about this picture is the love she conveys with both their eyes closed.

From Blood Bonds
I named this picture Swept Away, because literally Shauna looks like she is being swept off her feet. This picture says intensity and shows both a deepening love between the characters and their loss of innocence. Anyone who has read the first two books will understand the loss of innocence comment. All of Faleasha's depictions of Ascher and Shauna are exquisite, but there is just something about this one that gives me chills every time I see it.

From Blood Bonds
This picture is pretty self-explanatory. Faleasha created the perfect likeness of Ascher and Shauna's big day. This was also the first time we got to see Shauna's eyes open (this just happened to be a huge concern of my husband's, of  all of the things to care about). Again, she read a chapter and managed to fill this picture with unbelievable detail and emotion. I've also had people comment on the fact that they seem to mature from picture to picture. Knowing  that vampires don't age, I usually comment that the unchanging Ascher is just happy that he's found his eternal love.

From Blood Promise
I warned Faleasha while I was writing Blood Bonds that my writing was going someplace darker and more erotic. Some artists don't necessarily want their work associated with erotica, so I gave her the chance to back away from the series if she felt this way. Her reaction was funny, and not at all what I expected. For this picture, I aptly named The Promise is Fulfilled, I challenged her to explore a more sensual side of the couple. This picture was also my first brush with erotica discrimination. I had blogs turn me down for spots because "they don't post erotic material". Blogs, mind you, that were more than happy to feature the first two books. My editor and I got a good chuckle out of this and she said, "Welcome to the world of erotica, kid." Those who have read Blood Promise know that this picture is the embodiment of the lustful nature that their growing relationship takes on. And yes, Ascher looks different. You'll have to read Blood Promise to find out the details.  :)

How it's Made

Faleasha is now posting speedpaints on Youtube for her art. She wasn't doing this when she did the first two pictures (I really wish she had). I'm always awed, and sometimes cry, when I view a speedpaint of her work, because I know I'm blessed to have found her. Oddly enough, her sister (and my bud, Brandi) was the conduit that linked us. We were co-workers long enough to become pals. The rest is pretty much history. I am forever grateful that Brandi happened into my life for that year. As I wrote in Blood Promise, "Nothing in life is coincidence."  :)

Here are Faleasha's links. Drop by, give her pages some love and check out more of her work!!!!!!
